Living in beautiful Wellington with my two fur babies Leo and Simba, I stepped fully into my identity as a pet mum after my kids grew up. And like so many passionate pet parents, I was always searching for the best for my precious puppies. But I kept running into the same problem. Either the products weren’t good quality…Or they weren’t aesthetically pleasing. Or they were overpriced without delivering real value. As a pet mum, that was frustrating. Because we don’t compromise when it comes to our babies.
I remember speaking to my younger sister who by the way is a pet mum to seven pets. Seven! We would laugh about how our homes revolved around our fur babies. But beneath those conversations was something deeper. We both felt there was a gap.
Where were the products made for pet parents like us?
People who genuinely love their pets like family.
People who care about quality, comfort, safety but also about design and aesthetics.
People who don’t want to choose between functionality and beauty.
That’s when the idea for Pupr was born.
Two sisters. Both dog-obsessed. Both particular about what they want. Both unwilling to settle for less. We started thinking about all the other passionate pet mums and dads out there who probably felt the same way we did. The ones who research everything. Who read labels. Who compare stitching. Who want their home to look beautiful even with pet beds in the living room. Pupr was created for this community.
Every single product we make is planned, discussed, researched and yes even slept on. We don’t rush. We test. We ask friends who are pet parents. We get feedback. We refine. Only then do we execute. We decided to solve the problems one by one.
First, grooming needs because clean, comfortable pets are happy pets. Then sleeping needs because our babies deserve a space of their own that feels safe and luxurious. Then walking needs because every walk should feel secure, stylish and stress-free.
And we’re not stopping there. We will continue listening. We will keep asking pet parents like us what they truly need. And we’ll evolve our product line accordingly. We’re already working on bringing the very best out there for all our fur babies.
Pupr isn’t just a brand. It’s a reflection of the miles women go for their families including the four-legged ones. It’s built on conversations between sisters. It’s built on love, frustration, research and intention.
